This isn't a review for the Broome branch in particular, because the staff here was friendly!

DO NOT USE. High mileage vehicles of highly questionable safety, not fit for long distance purpose. No proper orientation of the vehicles and no advice, on driving, hazards, or what to do in an emergency. Also, don’t pay the extra insurance, it’s nearly completely invalidated anyway by their endless vaivers. It easy money for them and no care for their product or the lives of the people using them. In my opinion.

Dropping it off in Adelaide (cleaned of course, otherwise they charge you 400$ cleaning fee) was quite simple. Bring it back, they take a quick look at it and off you go. Remember the flat tyre i mentioned earlier? We had the "B Liability" coverage, so 4x tyres and 1x windscreen change was included. So i gave James the receipt for the tyre we had repaired and he said they would just refund the 60$ to the credit card i used for the security imprint on the contract. A few hours later i got an email that said i should give my bank details to wicked, so they could refund me on the bank account. Here's the thing: They charge you 20$ transfer fee for international or NZ bank accounts.

Besides having a flat tyre (street tyres + gravel = not very good, we did reduce tyre pressure). The car brought us savely to Adelaide though.

The car itself had 124k KMs on it, so it was pretty used and you could see it on the inside. The passenger door didn't stay open and both seatbelts didn't retract which was annoying. The brakes squeeked when breaking (which gets annoying after a few days) and the headlights were fogged.

Will definitely not rent with Wicked again and i hope no one else ever will. When we picked up the car in Broome (okay, it was 10min early) the mechanic was checking the engine. Didn't give me confidence in the car at all for a 36 day rent through the Kimberleys and Red Centre!

Then the fuel range was 400km MAX(!), so we had to stop at EVERY SINGLE gas station from Broome to Katherine. I know, that's not really their fault, but at least tell the customers! We used the live chat on their website prior to booking and told what route we wanted to do. That and the choice of our car should have been enough to tell us we maybe should pick the next bigger car available.

The guy working there was very nice. We could wash the car there and he even took us to the airport!

We rented the 2 sleeper 4x4 and were extremely disappointed when we saw that it was equipped with normal street tyres and the ground clearence was just that of a normal car. What's the point of renting a 4x4 then? They advertise "Get off the road"... I'd say get off the road and get stuck. Since our rental period was at the end of the wet season we were able to cross some street floodings and creeks with luck, but not all of them (20cm was already too deep).

The tent cover had a hole in it, so we had to sleep on a wet "matress" for a few nights of the last two weeks of our trip. Sure, we could have contacted them, but "Roadside Assistance" is not what i call when there is a hole in the cover of the tent.

That was just the top of the iceberg. We had a nice trip and would come to this beautiful country again, but never ever again in my life i will hire with Wicked again!

Picked up a 4x4 camper from the Broome branch a couple weeks back. The van was a 2013 model which I wasn't expecting at all! Being so new, there was obviously nothing wrong with the vehicle, if anything I was a bit nervous driving because of this reason. I noticed in the Wicked yard there were plenty of older, shabby looking vans - clearly Wicked are improving their fleet and I would definitely consider hiring with them again.
